It appears to be a tag-team wrestling match- Facebook & Microsoft on one side, and Apple & Twitter on the other side of the ring. The whole tech warfare stems from Apple?s decision to team up with Twitter to power the latter?s platform with its iOS 5 which will allow users instant access to various Apple products & applications while allowing Twitter engagement by enabling its users to get immediate status updates, tweets enclosed with pictures, video clips, web links and much more.
Considering the fact that Twitter has yet to enjoy the same popularity, social acceptance and user headcount as Facebook, it would have made more sense for Apple to have teamed up with the latter for the promotion of its iOS 5.
However, the 2 most prominent hindrances obvious to analysts include (i) the fact that Facebook already has strong alliances with Microsoft; Apple?s leading competitor and (ii) both Apple & Facebook do not compromise on being the first & foremost POC (Point Of Contact) in the provisioning of customer experience to their respective users.
Things can and will only get very interesting from this point on as all eyes will be anxious to see how Twitter?s image becomes elevated through Apple?s endorsement and how actively Facebook starts to pursue the introduction of smart-phones in collaboration with Windows.
