Push E-Mail Service In Smart Phones | Cell Phone

Smart phones are no more considered as luxury devices. A Consumer looks at it as a powerful tool to enhance the capacity to communicate or to acquire information. Many of the market leaders have introduced their products with QWERTY key boards similar to that of computers and free push e-mail facilities. Unlike the computer, the user need not switch on and open the system to check the mails and to ?pull? & read the same. Push email facility is one of the several features that distinguish the smart phones from other devices of similar characteristics. The conventional email is received at the mail server of the internet service provider or alternatively it will reach a website server. Unless the addressee opens and pull the mail, it will remain in the mail server. In the case of push email the addressee will be alerted as in the case of messages.

The new feature enables the users to receive mails instantaneously, irrespective of the time of its arrival. It is defacto a permanently ?on? mail box which the user can read conveniently even during travels. The push email facility has opened new vistas of opportunity to professionals who need instant information about matters of importance. Information about weather conditions or stock markets are examples in this context when the time factor is vital for the recipient. Constant up dating of the mail box without intervention is a remarkable feature of the system.

It is Blackberry who introduced the facility which received enormous response from the consumers. Now almost all other market leaders in the mobile phone segment have introduced the facility in their products. They are targeting youth and executives who want to chat and make use of email facility very frequently. The users will have to pay only the basic data download charges. Some of the market leaders like Nokia offer free instant messaging services also. Another important feature is that the new messaging service can accommodate multiple email accounts through one consumer and can support and mobilize up to ten email accounts. In totality it is more economical than all other versions of messaging or mailing.

But there are skeptics who apprehend that the push mail will force the users to read the mails continuously as soon they are received. When large number of mails are received and the user fails to download them, there is a possibility of continued inflow of mails resulting in the system getting chocked. In the conventional system, the user has the freedom to ignore some mails which are considered unimportant. However the utility value of push email is unassailable. The fact that millions of consumers are making use of the push email service is an indication of its wider acceptance. Of late the push email facility is extended to many other handheld devices because of its popularity as a convenient mode of communication.
