Shallow wooden cabinets make for great over the toilet bathroom storage. This green and white striped storage cabinet is very simple to complete. Look for shallow wooden cabinets at local home improvement stores, or repurpose a variety from a local flea market.

For this project, you will need (per cabinet):

- One shallow sized wooden wall cabinet in new or fairly good condition
- Medium or fine grit sandpaper
- Tack cloth or other style of soft cloth
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White
- Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Celery
- Krylon Short Cuts Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in White
- Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Masking tape
- Newsprint and/or a large drop cloth

Before starting your bathroom cabinet project, cover the space in which you will be working with newsprint sheets and/or a large drop cloth. If the cabinet has any existing paint or stain, remove that first with a bit of paint stripper and/or thinner according to manufacturer directions. Sand the outside of the cabinet with medium or fine grit sandpaper sheets. Wipe down the outside of the bathroom cabinet using a tack cloth or other style of soft cloth.

Cover any hardware on the cabinet with masking tape. Prime the entire cabinet using Krylon Indoor Outdoor Primer in All-Purpose White. Add a few coats to cover any wood grain or color underneath. Let the primed wood dry completely. Paint the cabinet with four to five even coats of Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Celery. Keep adding coats of light green paint until you reach a desired hue level. Allow the cabinet to dry for several hours before proceeding.

Use a ruler and a pencil to create vertical lines on the outside of the cabinet. These lines should be a half inch apart and start at the top of the cabinet, working downward. Trace over the lines using a Krylon Short Cuts Hobby and Craft Paint Pen in White. Wait twenty minutes, apply a second coat of white to the lines, and dry for four to five hours. Remove the masking tape from any hardware on the piece.

Spray the entire cabinet with Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Finishing Spray. Let the project set overnight before hanging the cabinet, as desired.

TIP: This project also looks wonderful when another pastel paint color is used in place of green. Consider Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Satin Ballet Slipper (a pink shade) and Krylon Indoor Outdoor Paint in Gum Drop (a lavender shade) excellent choices.
